DARWINPW REALTY/CORFAC INTERNATIONAL REPRESENTS THE JUNKLUGGERS IN NEW ELGIN LEASE
DarwinPW Realty/CORFAC International Vice President Chris Mergenthaler represented The Junkluggers of Chicago NW Suburbs (The Junkluggers), a junk removal, recycling, and reuse business, in its lease of a 12,250 square foot space at 425 Airport Road in Elgin, IL. The company is expanding and relocating from another location in the northwest suburb.
“The Junkluggers was looking for a space nearby with a functional warehouse, retail and office set up and that’s what they found here,” Mergenthaler says. “The new space will give them a showroom for a resale shop, as well as high ceilings and drive-in doors for their warehouse.” “The space is ideal. It was almost as if it were designed for our use directly.” said Robert Schmitt, Owner and Operator of the Elgin based location.
The 24-foot clear height and extra-large 12-foot by 14-foot drive-in doors were attractive to The Junkluggers for bringing in unwanted materials with the hope of repurposing everything they haul away. The front quarter of the building is already set up as a showroom/retail space which The Junkluggers will use for its resale business, ReMix Market. ReMix Market is a part of the The Junkluggers brand and works with charity partners, e.g. Cal’s Angels, by donating a percentage of revenue.
Don Meyer of Showplace Realty represented the private landlord in the transaction. The Junkluggers moved into the building last month.
